HOMEWORK CHALLENGE!
Posted: August 07, 2025
There are 168 hours in a week. Discipline is using those hours in the most effiecient way possible. We all have responsibilities that we must follow through with every day. Cooking, cleaning studying, training, etc. all deserve to have their own time in your 168 hours. The key is to make the time for it, and demand the time from yourself to get your daily tasks done! But like any habit discipline has to be practiced until the positive attribute is your default setting.
Most of our students average 90 minutes of in class training a week, just 1.5 hours. So the question is, how many more of the 166.5 hours of your week are you going to commit to training martial arts? If you were to spend 10 minutes every other day practicing your martial arts you would increase your normal weekly training time by 33%. That means you would get 33% better every week!! I know the hardest part of being disciplined is having somebody help you start the habits AND having someone hold you accountable. Thankfully for you our staff is more than prepared to set you up for success.
This testing cycle we are holding a homework challenge! We will post videos of drills for our students to do at home, and every time we recieve a video of you doing the drill we will give you a ticket. Those tickets can then be redeemed at our proshop for a variety of items from bracelets, to shirts, to private lessons, and golden ssahng jeol bahngs. Not only can you spend those tickets on super cool prizes but we will be holding a raffle at the end of the testing cycle for a Jr,Wavemaster. Because no at home training room is complete without a punching bag! We will post the video weekly across our social media and all you need to do to earn your tickets is show us the video.
Its reccomended that you brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day. If you brush them for 30 seconds its better than nothing but also won't prevent cavities nearly as well. You're going to get holes in your teeth! Being disciplined isn't rushing through your responsibilities just to get them done. Its taking the time to care for those things and make sure theyre done well. I want you to be disciplined with your at home training. You could do the homework one time, take a short clip and show it to us and be done for the week, But then you're more likely to have taekwondo cavities! Don't put holes in your taekwondo technique, be disciplined!
This week's training video is focusing on cleaning up after ourselves and ROTATION!! check it out at the link below and give us 110%
